1️⃣ Complete the Ahpra IQNM Self-Check

Your OBA journey begins with the IQNM Self-check on the Ahpra website.
After entering your qualification details, you will be placed into:

  • Stream A: No OBA required

  • Stream B: OBA required

  • Stream C: Must study in Australia

If you receive Stream B, you follow the OBA Nursing Pathway.


2️⃣ Pay the IQNM Fee & Complete Orientation Part 1

Once you continue as Stream B, you must:

  • Pay the IQNM assessment fee

  • Complete Orientation Part 1, an online module introducing Australia’s health system and nursing standards

This module is mandatory for all IQNMs.


3️⃣ Submit Your Portfolio (Document Assessment)
